Use the Contribute request form to request access to a specific site (you will need the URL, if it's a live site). If you don't have a specific site, you can use a student practice area. You will be provided with a Connection Key for each site you can access.

Install Contribute

You'll need to install Contribute, if you haven't already. You can get the free trial version from the Macromedia site any time and use it for 30 days. Make sure to get and run any updaters too. Contribute is available through Stanford Software Licensing at a very reasonable price. Free software may be available for publishers of official school sites. Check with Web Help.

Launch Contribute

Contribute contains controls, panels and buttons for editing your site's files. The demo provides a quick review of Contribute's user interface.

View site in browser

You should always view your site in a standard Web browser whenever you work on it, to validate your pages. We recommend Firefox, Safari, or any of the more recent browsers.

Optional: Quick Tour and Contribute Tutorial

Now is a good time to take Contribute's "quick tour" and/or take the "Contribute tutorial" These are great ways to familiarize yourself with Contribute's features, menus, buttons and commands in detail.
