    6. Tell us anything else you want considered, such as a suggested space name or URL, following the guides, below

Choosing a wiki name

  • Wiki names are based on the organization unit and purpose
  • Examples
    • CT Surgery: Reports
    • Dean's Office: HRG: Comp Resources
    • IRT: Web & New Media Services
    • Pathology: Residents
    • Surgery: Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
    • School of Medicine: Resources
  • The name can be changed later fairly easily

Choosing the wiki's URL

  • Wiki URLs are generally based on the space's name; they cannot be easily changed
  • Take the form
    https://medwiki.stanford.edu/display/KEYTERM
    for MedWiki and
    https://medwiki-secure.stanford.edu/display/KEYTERM for MedWiki-Secure
  • If you have a preferred key term, include it in your request; changing the URL later is very difficult
