Analyzing your Site with Google Analytics (beta)

WebTrends is the primary tool for gathering and analyzing site traffic statistics for Stanford Medicine sites. IRT also gathers Google Analytics (GA) data from all Stanford Medicine sites in the standard format. IRT is supporting the use of Google Analytics as a beta service, and the support provided depends on your choice from two options:

Option 1: Dependent Stanford Medicine Profile

IRT can provide you a view-only dependent profile of the main Stanford Medicine profile. This will be more than adequate for most users. You can view reports in several dimensions and with your own language preferences. Some advanced settings may not be in your control. This is a beta service, and our level of support has yet to be determined for this product. You will need a Google Account. To request a dependent profile via the Web Help Form.

Option 2: Self-managed Google Analytics Profile

IRT can add your own Google Analytics ID to your site to independently gather statistics. This can give you more control over the analysis of your data, but IRT's support is limited to installation and verification. Sorry, IRT can't help you to manage or use your independent profile, but there are lots of forums and other Google resources to support this activity. You will need a Google Account. To request a dependent profile via the Web Help Form.

You can set up multiple profiles for a single domain. For example, if you were setting up profiles to track "example.edu," you might want:
