Developing content for your site
Whether you are revising an existing site or building one from the ground up, careful consideration of your site’s content is critical to its ultimate success.
- All content must be provided in electronic form. Keep the content concise and geared to your targeted audience(s). For more information about preparing content for the school's Web environment, please see our content guide (PDF).
- All department sites include four tabs for each of the school’s missions: Education, Research, Patient Care and Community. If you are requesting a departmental site, you will need to provide text describing your efforts in each of these areas as well as general information about your activities. For more information about the SoM Web structure, please see our Introduction to the SoM Web Format guide.
- Sites representing centers, programs, labs or administrative groups do not have the four mission tabs and only require general content.
- Images and video are a powerful way to communicate with your audience and add visual interest to your site. Be sure to check out our video resources as well our online image repository, which may have just the photo or logo you need.
