Core Services

The Web & New Media Services group oversees the development, maintenance and governance of the School’s public Web presence, which today includes more than 350 sites totaling 200,000-plus pages. Every day thousands of individuals from all over the world visit these sites in search of admissions requirements, course offerings, research activities, clinical care offerings, faculty profiles, and much more.

The following services are provided free to the SoM community.

Site Development: The Web & New Media Services group provides support for building new sites from the ground up, redesigning sites in the new SoM format and maintaining existing sites.

Dynamic Web Applications: In partnership with the Systems Engineering & Architecture group, we design, manage and implement dynamic Web applications for the publishing of database-driven content across school’s Web sites

Web Hosting: We offer hosting for online materials associated with the School of Medicine. Housed in IRT's Data Center, your site will be protected by nightly backup and security monitoring.

Web Policies: The Web & New Media Services establishes the design and technical standards for presenting the school’s units as a collective whole. A key aim is to provide sufficient freedom so that each group can meet its unique online branding and functionality needs.
