Dreamweaver is the tool of choice when you expect to create new topics, sub-sites, or other site structure. Although it's a more advanced tool than Contribute, it is also fairly easy to learn and use. |
Get To Work with Dreamweaver
Become a Dreamweaver Web Author: Each SoM site's sponsors must assign one or more Web Authors to ensure that the site is kept up to date. To become a Dreamweaver Web Author, please use the Web Help form to request access to an existing Stanford Medicine site or to request access to a practice site, and select the checkbox for Dreamweaver in the form. You must have a SUNet ID to become a Web Author. More »
Install Dreamweaver: You can download a 30-day free trial copy any time. Dreamweaver is also available through Stanford Software Licensing at a discount.
Get Ready: You must first set up Dreamweaver to connect, then get the site files from the server, and set up your local Templates folder.
Go to Work: With Dreamweaver you can edit existing pages, create new pages and new topics, edit text, insert body links to pages and documents, and update left navigation links.
Get Training: IRT provides detailed online training for Dreamweaver, including self-paced video tutorials, and in-person training. We can even give you access to a student practice area where you can safely learn Dreamweaver.
Free built-in Training: Take advantage of Dreamweaver's built-in tutorial. While in Dreamweaver, click "Help" in the menu bar then "Dreamweaver Tutorial", or click "Get Started" in the bottom section of the left-hand panel labeled "How Do I...".
