Managing Speaker Media Releases

Quick Links

How to manage media releases as a Speaker:

  1. First, determine if you have any unsigned media releases. This can be determined in several places throughout Maestro. If you have an unsigned media release, your name will appear in a bold red font on the Event tab. Also, sessions that you own with missing media releases will be listed on the ‘Welcome’ tab. If a session has already been captured and media releases have not been signed, Speakers and Event Owners will be notified via email (content will not be distributed before releases are signed).
  2. Sign your outstanding releases. If you find that you do have unsigned releases, sign them to prevent media from being held back from distribution. Click the ‘Media Release’ tab.
  3. Any incomplete media releases will be found under the ‘Unsigned Session Release(s)’ section. Click on ‘Agree’ for the appropriate unsigned release to sign it - you will have the chance to read the details of the release after clicking.
  4. Content Added

  5. After clicking on each release, a popup will appear, outlining the legal terms and conditions. If you agree, check the box and click the ‘Agree’ button. If you have any questions or concerns, click on the Event Owner’s name to contact them.
  6. Content Added

  7. Private releases are “blanket” releases covering all private events for a full year from the sign date. All media, content and course files will only be available after SUNet authentication for private events. Public releases need to be signed for every session in a public event, and allow open distribution of files and content given the event feed link. You can view you private and public signed releases under ‘Signed Session Release(s)’. The status and duration of your private release can be viewed under ‘Private Release Status.’
