Recommended Software

The Software at Stanford website provides information about software available for use or purchase on campus. For most items, you’ll find a link that takes you directly to a product page or download site. Currently, most of the software listed on this site is provided by Information Technology Services, SULAIR (Stanford University Libraries and Academic Information Resources), University Procurement (CWA), and the Stanford Bookstore.

As a member of Stanford community there is a set of recommended software for you to install on your computer for a safe and secure computing environment.  You can access this ilst at the ITS Essential Stanford Software website.

The following lists (for either Windows or MacOS) contain the primary standard software which we would recommend for all School of Medicine users.  Your unique role or preferences may dictate that you use additional software beyond that which is listed.
