Wireless NetworkingIn This Section(sunet ID required) Stanford University School of Medicine's Office of Information Resources and Technology (IRT) has established secure wireless networking to many of the public areas in the School of Medicine. Given that wireless networks are challenging to secure, we provide further information about this network to people with a SUNet ID. About SUNet IDsA SUNet ID (Stanford University Network IDentifier) provides access to the Stanford University computing network (SUNet) and its services. You can apply for your SUNet ID via the ITSS SUNet ID web site. Some medical center staff may need to have their departments sponsor a SUNet ID for them. Check the SUNet ID eligibility guidelines to see if you need to request a sponsored SUNet ID. Access Points on the Medical School CampusNo new access points (e.g. Apple Airport Extreme) are allowed in the School of Medicine, unless deployed by Information Resources and Technology (IRT). To learn more about this policy, read this letter authored by Dean Henry Lowe. |
