Connecting people and technologies with Networking
The IRT Networking unit is responsible for monitoring, maintaining,
upgrading,
and expanding the computer network in the Medical School. We staff a HelpDesk
which provides assistance to users with all of their networking needs. Examples
of end-user services which we provide include:
- getting a new computer configured for our wired or wireless network
- getting a new printer configured for our network, and configuring
computers to print to it
- getting computers set up to share files
- troubleshooting network connectivity problems
- troubleshooting network application (web browser, e-mail reader)
problems
- network needs analysis, design, and installation for new or renovated
space
- maintenance of and upgrades to the existing wired and wireless network
infrastructure.
