Adding a Computer to the Domain - IIIFirst user loginOnce the computer has joined the domain, select "Stanford.edu(Kerberos Realm)" from the domain pull-down menu in the logon window to use their SUNet username and password. Common problemsIf the user didnt change there password at stanfordyou.stanford.edu before the migration process, there is a possibility they have a old password not compatible with the windows domain. Copy Users Profile:The domain account profile is created the first time the user logs in to the "Stanford.edu(Kerberos Realm)" and is stored in C:\Documents and Settings Folder\Username This will be the same username that was determined in the begining of this document (To identify which user profile is being used). Have the User logon to the "Stanford.Edu(Kerberose Realm)" to create the new default user profile. Then have the user log out. Add the users WIN\SUNet ID to the local administrator group. The My Documents, My Pictures, Favorites, Start Menu, and Desktop folders are, by default, the only folders displayed in Windows Explorer. The NetHood, PrintHood, Application Data, Local Settings, SendTo and Templates folders are hidden and do not appear in Windows Explorer. To show hidden system profile filesOpen the control panel and then open the Folder Options. Click on the “View Tab”. as shown below:
Answer “yes” to the dialog box. Copy all the files in the user’s old profile to the new profile. The new profile is c:\Documents and Settings\SUNetID.WIN Logoff as Local Administrator, Have the user log on with their SUNet ID in the "Stanford.edu(Kerberose Realm)".
