The IRT Data Center is responsible for coordinating with the different departments in the School of Medicine to assist them in migrating to the Campus Windows Domain.

Advantages for going into the Windows Domain:

* Common services of authentication, directory services, and name resolution for the Windows environment.
* Single sign-on capability between Unix and Windows resources
* Automated account management based on the SUNet account system
* Automated replication of SUNet registry groups for consistent access controls across platforms.
* Delegation of administration to local Windows support.
* Distributed resource sharing and collaboration
* Ability to deploy Exchange services without added infrastructure
* Ability to leverage policy for security and manageability
