It allows users to develop their strategic plans including determination of missions, goals, activities and initiatives. It also provides tools for organizations to define their success metrics and monitor their performance relative to their plans.

This web-based application will facilitate communication throughout the School of goals, initiatives and activities.

It is the product of a collaboration among the Institutional Planning Office, Administrative Systems and Systems Engineering & Architecture. The system was developed in Oracle ApEx (aka HTML DB) by Tanya Podchiyska.

STRIDE Release 1.6.1 http://med.stanford.edu/irt/development/dev-blog/archive/2006/09/stride_release_3.html This release was primarily an update to the Tissue Banks (Cancer Center, BMT and Hematology), with a few general usability enhancements for good measure.

    New Features

  • New feature for the Bone Marrow Transplant label printing and patient lookup application: the patient's prior samples are now displayed in the lower left, to address the problem of too many samples being ordered.
  • New feature for the Cancer Center Tissue Bank: a new radio button indicates whether the entire sample is being distributed. In the case where a partial sample is distributed, the original sample is now retained.
  • Usability enhancement: swap the patient 'Last name' and 'First name' text entry fields in the main patient search window, for consistency with the SHC practice of always showing the patient's last name first.
  • Usability enhancement: a tab close box now appears to the right of the text on dismissable tabs, as an indication to the user which tabs can be closed and how to close them.
  • Usability enhancement: a popup dialog now requests confirmation when dismissing the main STRIDE application window, to prevent inadvertently dismissing the application.
  • Customizations to the sample accessioning dialog for the Hematology Tissue Bank.
  • Bugs fixed

  • Case 5386: After patient has been enrolled the LHS task item associated with demographics should read 'Patient demographics' rather than 'Enroll patient'.
  • Case 6902: Photo search was returning all photos, including scanned consent forms, even when the constraint was to find only photos with the supplied annotation.
  • Case 7620: Intermittent NPE on application start when launching the BMT application, due to a race condition loading the Spring beans.

STRIDE Release 1.6.0 http://med.stanford.edu/irt/development/dev-blog/archive/2006/07/stride_release_2.html New Features

    • New data extract and reporting tool permitting fully customizable data export as comma separated value files, readable by Microsoft Excel.
    • Cohort queries can now be saved to desktop as an XML file, and restored from saved files for later re-execution.
    • Each cohort query constraint element now displays the count of the number of matches in the database for that single element. This gives the user a better sense of how general or specific each query constraint is.
    • It is now possible to craft a query consisting entirely of demographic query constraints, as these constraints are no longer considered 'too broad' for attempted execution.
    • Many cohort query constraints now support an 'exists' option in addition to the usual comparison operators (greater than, less than, equals, etc.). This option supports formulating queries regarding whether the specified attribute exists, as opposed to asking whether it has a certain value or range of values.
    • Data security enhancements for the cohort, photo, patient and tissue search tools.
    • Migrated certain boolean valued fields to a new storage format (values are now 'yes' and 'no') for clearer results during data extract.

    Bugs fixed

    • Case 6925: BMT list box report had columns in reverse order; the data in these columns now matches up with the report headers.
    • Case 6307: Tissue search tool results list now consistently retains its state between sessions.
    • Case 7098: Tissue search queries involving more than one tissue sample or storage/distribution constraint were timing out. This class of queries now executes correctly.
