Macintosh - Information for faculty, staff, and students in the School of Medicine
We support Mac OS 10.3 and above. If your computer is not at this level, call 5-8000 and we can assist you in understanding any limitations and then upgrading.
If you want to get ready, follow these steps:
- Insure Anti-Virus software is up to date
- Live Update (Configure your software for regular updates)
- Daily Virus Scan (Configure your software for daily scans)
- Insure that software updates are automatic
- Software Update
- Configure your machine for remote desktop support
- Access to your machine is still controlled entirely by you
- Why should I do this? How about security? How does this work?
- Applications and Data loaded in standard locations
- Exceptions to locations of applications or data should be recorded in a text file on the desktop ("IRT exceptions.txt")
