IPDO Role and Responsibilities
IPDO provides a web-based central communication site for multi-authored institutional grant proposals that are being handled by IPDO. Access to a proposal project requires log-in with a SUNet ID. The proposal’s PI determines the faculty and staff who will be allowed access to the site.
The exact role of IPDO in developing a proposal is defined by the PI of the proposal and the quality and quantity of support is highly dependent upon working ahead. IPDO can assist with:
- development of a framework for the proposal
- assembling some institutional data
- designing figures and tables
- providing boilerplate text
- content editing to communicate a common vision throughout proposal
- technical editing to improve readability to non-domain experts
- review and implementation of reviewer comments
- production coordination or oversight, including
- collection and formatting of key personnel biosketches
- collection and formatting of all sections and pages of proposal
