Mouse trap? Stanford immunologist calls for more research on humans, not mice
In an essay in the journal Immunity, Mark Davis proposes that the current mouse-centered, small-laboratory approach to studying the immune system be supplemented by a broad, industrial-scale “systems biology” approach akin to the one that unraveled the human genome. Davis is the Burton and Marion Avery Family Professor and director of the Stanford Institute for Immunity, Transplantation and Infection.
