A brief item in the October issue incorrectly stated the nature of the relationship between Dior Beauté and the Stanford University Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. Although Dior supports its research, Stanford was not involved with the development of the company's Capture R60/80 XP line of skincare.

One of two formerly conjoined 2-year-old twin sisters at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital has been moved from the intensive care unit. Gary Hartman, clinical professor of pediatric surgery, is quoted in this article. A similar article appears on Palo Alto Online News; Hartman and Gail Wright, clinical assistant professor of pediatrics, are quoted.

This article discusses a Stanford study showing that the use of a pedometer - a small, inexpensive device that counts the number of steps walked per day - is associated with significant increases in physical activity and weight loss and improvements in blood pressure. Dena Bravata, the study's lead author and a senior research scientist in medicine, is quoted in a brief item in The Oregonian (Portland).
