Stanford union sets strike date
BEmployees from Stanford Hospital & Clinics and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital have announced they would strike at 5 a.m. on Dec. 12 if hospital management continues to refuse to return to the bargaining table. Christopher Dawes, president and CEO of Packard, and Martha Marsh, president and CEO of SHC, are quoted in this article. A brief item also appears in the San Jose Mercury News.

recombinant DNA was granted to Stanford and UCSF. The patent was based on the
pioneering work of Stanley Cohen, the Kwoh-Ting Li Professor, and Herbert Boyer
of UCSF.
