Title: Comparative Effectiveness of Coronary Bypass Surgery and Angioplasty

Abstract:

Coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) are some of the most common procedures performed worldwide. Either can be used to treat many patients with coronary disease, and so their comparative effectiveness has been studied using a variety of methods. In this talk I will review these comparative studies, with a particular emphasis on recent work showing significant heterogeneity according to clinical characteristics in the effect of treatment on mortality.
