Human Perception Lab

Creating the building blocks to fuel personalized AI and other human intelligent technologies

Our core approach is to reverse engineer the brain via the human senses. Perception. Intent. Action. 

We're not just an academic lab focused on advancing our own research. We're a lab that's building tools and technologies that can be used by everyone to advance the aim of achieving a human intelligent AI.  It takes a community to make true change. 


Human Factors are fundamental to our approach

The Stanford Human Perception Lab encompasses human factors, exploring how sensory inputs help people define and navigate their environments.

Our publications in this area have been geared toward human-machine interface optimization, including the creation of standards for ergonomics in virtual, augmented, and mixed reality devices and identifying opportunities to improve duration of display interactions. To learn more about how we apply our learnings to the vision space, please check out the papers linked.
