To understand, to educate, to inspire, and to heal

Our Mission

To understand, to educate, to inspire, and to heal

The Center for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research and Education is an integral component program within the Stanford University Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. We are dedicated to excellence in teaching and research. By using human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) and alternative pluripotent cells such as induced-pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) as a model, we seek to understand how pluripotent cells generate distinct fates during human development. At the same time, we are setting the stage to translate these findings into novel therapeutics.
