Introducing our 2018 HBREX Intern

Blessing Edem

Blessing is a rising junior on the pre-med track at Stanford University. She will likely be majoring in Human Biology, with a concentration in global health and health policy. She was raised in Chino Hills, CA but originates from Nigeria.

Her cultural background has influenced her to pursue a career in medicine that incorporates clinical practice and improving healthcare systems in disadvantagedcommunities in Nigeria and domestically. She spends her time as a volunteer with Stanford Health Advocacy and Research in the Emergency Department , addressing social and legal needs of ED patients, and as Co- President of the Stanford African Students Association.

 

Through the Human Biology Research Exploration (HBREX) program, Blessing will work with researchers in the Global Child Health Program on ongoing projects in Nairoibi, Kenya, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
