Is a Cholera Outbreak Preventable in Post-earthquake Nepal?

Dr. Eric Nelson and his colleagues have published  a commentary in the August 2016 edition of PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases examining the answers to that question.

Nelson is an Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics and has been working with colleagues in the Department of Medicine, as well as the Stanford Geospatial Center and International Center on Diarrhoeal Diseases Research- Bangladesh (icddr,b) to improve knowledge and capacity to prevent and address potential outbreaks of cholera in Bangladesh. Nelson has also traveled to Nepal to provide support and is working with the Center for Innovation in Global Health at Stanford to explore opportunities for further collaboration and capacity building.
