Section of Geriatric Medicine

Stanford’s School of Medicine’s Section of Geriatric Medicine was established in 2015 to meet older adults’ unique health needs in all care settings, to train clinical providers in optimal care of older adults, and to develop and disseminate the best models for this care.  Since 2021, Geriatric Medicine at Stanford has been rapidly expanding its programs in aging-related basic and clinical translational research, as well as health care innovation to help achieve individuals' goals of personal best health as they age. To achieve these goals, we are actively partnering and integrating with experts within and beyond Stanford University while emphasizing the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.
