An important goal of the GCRC program is the education of physicians, research fellows, medical students, and paramedical personnel in the complex techniques and disciplines of clinical research. The Center is also a facility where nurses, dietitians, and laboratory technicians can gain experience in newly developed research and patient care technologies. The training functions of the GCRC are one the major areas of responsibility of the Associate Director. In addition, the Pediatric Component of the GCRC under Associate Director Dr. David Stevenson provides a comprehensive research training experience for medical students, house staff, and fellows in Pediatrics.
GCRC investigators and members of the Advisory Committee are involved in the PRECEPT program .This program provides didactic training in aspects of clinical research for medical students and postdoctoral fellows.
