Administrative Structure

Branimir I. Sikic, M.D., Program Director, is directly responsible for the conduct of the inpatient and outpatient clinical investigation. He, in turn, is responsible to the Principal Investigator, Phillip A. Pizzo, M.D., Dean of the School of Medicine, and to the GCRC Advisory Committee. The Program Director and the Center Administrative Manager derive their authority from the GCRC Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee meets on a monthly basis and has, as its primary function, consideration of the quality of the clinical research being performed on the GCRC. In addition, it considers general policies, common needs, resource allocations, patient admission policies, and fiscal and administrative matters. In its advisory capacity, once a consensus has been reached, the administrative officers of the GCRC act as agents for implementing the intent of the Committee.
