1. How can you afford to live in the Bay Area?

No doubt, the amazing environment in this area, comes with a price tag.  In particular, housing is quite expensive.  However, there are ways to make this work.  Recognizing the costs, there are efforts to provide fellows with appropriate housing allowances.  There is also a lottery system available for apartments located on campus as well.

2. What are some activities in the area?

There is no shortage of activities in the area for all interests.  There are hiking trails galore all around this area.  A bit further are Tahoe and Yosemite.  And if you like good food, you will not be disappointed! San Francisco offers world class museums.  A couple of hours away are some of the best wineries in the world. 


3. How is the research environment?


Stanford University has unparallelled opportunities for research.  Whether you are interested in health policy, translational  or basic science, you will find no shortage of resources to enable your interests.  http://med.stanford.edu/gastrohepfellows/Research/

4. Where do our graduates go?

Our graduates go on to pursue a diversity of interests.  Recent graduates have gone on to academic positions at Johns Hopkins, University of Washington, Stanford, etc.
