2009 Fellows Graduation

Graduating Fellows
Cynthia Leung, Walter Park, Tu Nguyen
We would like to congratulate the three fellows who are graduating on June 30, 2009. Everyone acknowledges that, after 3 years of intense clinical and scientific training, graduating from Stanford’s GI fellowship program is indeed a major accomplishment.
This June, these 3 young and bright minds will leave behind the fellowship and join our lists of outstanding alumni of the Stanford GI fellowship. Many of our distinguished graduates become leaders in the field as academicians, teachers, researchers, clinicians, and a few even excel as top administrators.
These fellows, are Drs. Cynthia Leung, Walter Park and Tu Nguyen. Dr. Leung received her MD degree from Stanford University and completed internal medicine residency at Stanford. Dr. Nguyen received his MD degree from University of California-Irvine and completed internal medicine residency at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Dr. Park received his MD degree from Johns Hopkins University and completed internal medicine residency at Stanford.
The graduation party was held on 6/12/2009 to celebrate their professional milestone in bidding a “good bye and welcome” since all 3 of them will remain in the Bay area and will maintain their ties with the Stanford community and our Division.
The guest speaker at the graduation party was one of our distinguished alumnus, Dr. Gabe Garcia, Professor of Medicine, Associate Dean of Admissions and T Peter E. Haas Director of the Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford’s School of Medicine.
