Disaster/Relief Consultation

Dr. Carrion has been consulted during man-made and natural disasters in terms of the effects of these events in children and how to prevent them. Past work includes, training counselors after Katrina in New Orleans and after the earthquake in Haiti, providing counseling on how to assess children after the 2008 earthquake in Sichuan and the 2011 Japan Tsunami and presenting on trauma in children to the Australian government after the 2009 Victoria bushfires.

More recently, Dr. Carrion chaired a middle-east conference on children and war and he is associate editor of the Journal of Traumatic Stress, the international journal of the international society for traumatic stress studies.
