Byung "Jason" Yoon, MD, PhD


Jason grew up in South Korea and later moved to California. He completed his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins and remained at Hopkins for medical school. While in medical school, he decided to pursue a PhD at Cambridge University (Trinity College), UK, mentored by Christine Holt. He completed his PhD thesis on localized protein translation in developing axons in 2010, and then earned his MD degree in 2012. Outside neurosurgery, he plays the violin and enjoys traveling.
