Our mission is to help people with Down syndrome lead healthier and happier lives by rapidly and effectively applying research discoveries to useful treatments.

Message From the Directors

Dear reader:
A few years ago, several parents approached Dr. Mobley with the question why so little research was being done to help understand the cognitive disabilities of children with Down syndrome.

The answer was quite simple: Scientists believe that Down syndrome is a disorder that is too complex and difficult to understand, let alone one for which effective treatments can be found. For this reason, the government invests little money in Down syndrome research. As a direct consequence, few young investigators feel secure enough to embark on the ambitious mission of understanding and treating Down syndrome.
