Restylane

Restylane is an FDA-approved injectable filler material. It is composed of hyaluronic acid, an important component of our connective tissue. This has been used extensively by Dr. Most in his San Francisco/San Jose Bay Area practice. The latest version, Restylane-L (mixed with lidocaine, a numbing agent), was tested by Dr. Most and found to be less painful than traditional methods--ask our office for details!

As a filler material, Restylane is used to 'fill in' areas of wrinkles or other depressions that would benefit from 'filling out'. At the time of your initial consultation, Dr. Most will personally evaluate you and determine if you are a good candidate for Restylane injection.

How long will the results last?

This depends on the area injection. In general, the effect should last 9 months or so. In areas of active motion, such as the lips, the effect lasts around 6 months. Of course, these results can vary in individual patients.

The Procedure

The procedure is performed in the office with topical or local anesthesia. An initial period of swelling is expected and can last a few days. Some patients experience a small amount of bruising in the injected areas.
