Med Fund

Alumni from the MD, masters, and PhD programs, as well as former residents and fellows, play a critical role in the continual evolution of Stanford University School of Medicine through their annual gifts to the Med Fund.

Since its inception decades ago, the Med Fund, which is used exclusively to support innovation in medical education, has generated millions of dollars to support students and trainees.  We are implementing a variety of innovations to our curriculum and training programs—all of which are supported by contributions to the Med Fund. These include:

  • Scholarly Concentrations, which enable medical students to focus on a specific area of interest, developing critical thinking skills in the evaluation of new data as well as direct, hands-on experience under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
  • The Masters of Medicine Program, which offers students earning a PhD the opportunity to learn more about clinical medicine, thus sparking their interest in translational research: turning scientific discoveries into a deeper knowledge about human disease, leading to novel approaches to diagnosis and treatment.
  • ARTS (Advanced Residency Training at Stanford), a program that permits residents and fellows to pursue research and graduate studies as a means of developing careers in academic medicine.

The Med Fund also helps underwrite construction of the new Learning and Knowledge Center, designed to be one of the most advanced facilities for medical education in the country.

We invite you to consider the following Med Fund giving levels as you plan your annual gift:

  • $5,000 and above - Cornerstone Society
  • $1,500 - Dean's Circle
  • $1,000 - Professors' Circle
  • $500 - Scholars' Circle

You may make a gift or pledge now to the Med Fund on the secure Giving to Stanford site.
