Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge (LKSC)

Illustration

This five-level building will be home to future generations of Stanford MD and PhD students, the heart of Stanford's medical training programs, and a vibrant new interface between the campus and the community. The LKSC will allow us to revitalize our educational mission by taking advantage of revolutionary changes in the way information is developed, shared, and applied. The most technically advanced components of the center will be the immersive and simulation theaters, which will include virtual reality laboratories, mannequin simulation facilities, and clinical skills training tools that will allow us to better prepare students for the experiences ahead.

The LKSC will also offer much-needed space for flexible classrooms that can be easily configured for group learning activities; a state-of-the-art digitized library offering integrated access to scientific resources for faculty, residents, and students; a conference center for symposia and community outreach events; and welcoming spaces for students to study and meet.
