Capital Projects:
Building for the Future
To do their best work, both faculty and students need spaces that encourage collaborative, multidisciplinary efforts and that offer sufficient room for the complex procedures that are driving healthcare and bioscience today. New and larger laboratories outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment designed to speed research and results, and new and modernized clinics that provide comfortable and healing environments for patients are top priorities of The Stanford Challenge.
- The first of three Stanford Institutes of Medicine research buildings, SIM1 will foster multidisciplinary research in cancer, stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, and neurosciences.
- The Learning and Knowledge Center will provide leading-edge facilities for the training of medical and biomedical students and house a variety of services — from a digital library to a full-service conference center — to foster communication and collaboration.
