Research Building 1 (SIM1)
The first major phase of a university-wide plan to integrate science, engineering, and medicine, SIM1 will provide 200,000 gross square feet for the Stanford Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, the Stanford Cancer Center, and the Neuroscience Institute at Stanford. It will house laboratories for investigators in a variety of disciplines, along with the core technologies and services to support their work. The building design will feature open laboratories and communal gathering spaces that encourage interaction and teamwork, and is a key component in our effort to encourage alliances between scientists and physicians.
