Brain imaging study of face processing in depressionAre you experiencing a consistently depressed mood? Have you found that you are unable to enjoy or are not interested in activities that you have previously enjoyed? Have you been diagnosed with depression? We are seeking people who are currently experiencing depression to participate in a research study about how people process faces and emotional pictures. The study is at Stanford University Medical Center and compensates up to $50 for participation. General eligibility criteria: 1) Men and Women ages 18-85 years old, 2) No current or history of neurological disorders, 3) No seizure disorder or history of head trauma, 4) No current regular psychiatric medications. The study is scheduled in one session. Volunteers are interviewed and given several questionnaires, followed by a MRI scan of the brain (lasting up to 2 hrs).
