Study of Brain Activity During Treatment for DEPRESSION

Researchers at Stanford University are seeking people who are experiencing depression to participate in a research study investigating changes in brain activity during treatment of depression. The study takes place at Stanford University Medical Center. Treatment is free for this 8-week study. Participants will receive medication. The study includes 3 MRI brain scans, and participants will receive $50 per MRI.

To be eligible:
--Men and women ages 18-55 years old
--No current or history of neurological disorders
--No seizure disorder or history of head trauma
--No metal in the body or tattoes near the head
--Not currently on antidepressant medication

The study consists of 5 visits: 1 screening visit and 4 treatment visits. During 3 of these visits (weeks 1, 2, and 8), participants will undergo memory and concentration tests and an MRI scan.
