Research Training

For those individuals primarily interested in research training within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, the application process differs from that associated with the categorical Combined Clinical and Research Training Program, which is described in detail under Clinical Programs.

Those applicants interested primarily in one or two years of research under a faculty mentor should refer to the faculty research activity listing described under faculty research activities. This listing subdivides research activities into those that are primarily bench research and those that are clinical research. Applications should be made directly to individual faculty members regarding availability of mentored research opportunities. Faculty members have extensive publication records that can be readily accessed through a National Library of Medicine search engine, such as PubMed . If one of these areas of research matches your own interests, you should contact the faculty member directly. Please provide a complete curriculum vitae and as much information as possible about your training and interests. It will be up to the faculty member to determine whether a mutually beneficial program of research training can be arranged. You should be aware of the fact that research training applicants from both the United States and foreign countries must have excellent qualifications and must be fully competitive with current trainees, many of whom already have advanced research training.

Non-US applicants should read the information provided under "Non-US Applications" located on the navigation bar to the left.
