We are happy to announce the nomination of Thu Vu, RN, as clinical research nurse for the Cardiovascular Institute. Thu will be the nurse coordinator for the CIRM genetic cardiomyopathy grant as well as the biomarker research projects of the Cardiovascular Institute.
After completing a bachelor of science in biology at UCLA, Thu recently completed a master of science in nursing at University of California, San Francisco. Her specialty focus at the School of Nursing was cardiovascular nursing care with a minor in genomics for health care providers. Her master’s comprehensive exam looked at the role of serial B-type natriuretic peptide monitoring in reducing hospital readmission rates of heart failure patients. Thu’s previous roles include working as a research associate for the Cardiovascular Institute, focusing on autoimmunity in cardiovascular disease. Thu would like to pursue original research looking at innovative educational tools and novel algorithms for patient monitoring.
