Analytic Guidance for the California Children’s Services (CCS) Program

Under the guidance of Paul H. Wise, MD, MPH and Lee M. Sanders, MD, MPH, one of CPOP’s statewide projects is to provide analytic guidance for the California Children’s Services (CCS) Program, the nation’s largest Title V program, serving more than 150,000 children per year through county- and state-based case management and other services.

The goal is to provide data analyses to policymakers at the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), CCS leaders, and other stakeholders that may guide efforts to improve systems of care for all CHSCN in California.  Some strategic activities include understanding the different factors that affect policy-relevant analyses of comprehensive health claims data for all CCS enrollees, bridging activities to engage CCS program leaders and CSHCN stakeholders in evidence-based conversations regarding CCS reform, and regional learning collaboratives to bring analytic guidance to implementation strategies for CCS county programs.
