Stanford Medicine Tech Bar @ SRWC opens its doors
After a trial "soft opening" in July, the new Tech Bar on the fourth floor of Discovery Hall is ready to go.
Stanford Medicine clients on the Stanford Redwood City campus have a new way to get help should they encounter an IT-related issue.
Stanford Medicine Tech Bar @ SRWC, located on the fourth floor in Discovery Hall, officially opens its doors Monday, Aug. 5. With that, members of the School of Medicine community can to stop by any time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. No appointment is needed.
Drop-in support option
With this opening, the Tech Bar team brings to the new campus its own of the brand of in-person support, modeled after the Apple Genius Bar. A similar drop-in help option opened on the main campus in the lower level of the Lane Medical library about three years ago. Tech Bartenders are ready to resolve problems with any smartphone, tablet, or laptop you use for work. This includes issues with applications, compliance, network connectivity, or just general questions.
“We’re really looking forward to getting to know our clients at Stanford Redwood City. We want to bring the service model that has worked so well on the main campus to Discovery Hall,” said Mark Riesenberger, Tech Bar lead.
Although the Tech Bar in SRWC is smaller than the one at Lane, it will offer all the same menu of services, with the exception of loaner devices and the demo bar.
