Training leaders in medical and life sciences

The Department of Comparative Medicine teaches both undergraduate and graduate level courses for academic credit. It also provides externships and summer fellowships for veterinary students interested in careers in research comparative pathology or laboratory animal medicine.
The Veterinary Service Center (VSC) provides training to Stanford faculty, staff and students involved in the care and use of laboratory animals in teaching and research. The purpose of the VSC training program is to ensure humane animal care and use by complying with federal, state, local and institutional animal welfare laws, policies and guidelines.
