Event: Stanford Disability Disaster Preparedness Panel Presentation: “How Individuals with Disabilities and Allies Can Respond During Times Of Crisis”

Join us for an engaging panel of local and campus experts about disaster preparedness for individuals with disabilities. During wildfire season in California, it is crucial to have a solid emergency plan. Combined with the multiplying heatwaves and other extreme weather events, planning for our vulnerable disabled populations is becoming even more critical, as they face additional risks and challenges during times of crisis.

Event: Stanford Medicine 2020 LGBTQ+ Forum

Intersectionality in recognition that now more than ever, it is imperative to prioritize an inclusive and equitable community for intersectional LGBTQ+ groups. 

The featured keynote speaker will be Jonathan Lassiter, PhD, co-editor of Black LGBT Health in the United States: The Intersection of Race, Gender, and Sexual Orientation. Dr. Lassiter and a panel of featured Stanford community members will share both personal and professional experiences related to this theme. The audience will have an opportunity to interact with the speakers through a live Q&A and polling.

Event: Stanford Muslim Medical Association Anti-Racism Webinar Muslim ARC

Stanford Muslim Medical Association will be co-hosting a webinar with MSU and the Markaz center about Anti-Racism in our Muslim communities. We are excited to announce that this session will be presented by Sister Kenyatta Bakeer of MuslimARC, a collaborative dedicated to creating spaces for learning and developing racial equity and cultivating solutions to advance it. This webinar will provide us with an opportunity to discuss important issues such as racism, colorism, and anti-Blackness within our own communities.

Event: IDHE LatinX & Allies Employee Resource Group (ERG) Hispanic Heritage Month Event

You are invited! The LatinX & Allies ERG proudly presents a conversation with Pedro Espinoza & Jorge Titinger to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! Opening remarks will be provided by Stanford Health Care’s CEO, David Entwistle. Our guest speakers, Peruvian co-authors of an award-winning book, will share how their culture has impacted their success. We will gain insights from two Hispanic leaders on how we can foster a culture of belonging. Join us for an entertaining conversation on the power of inclusion as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!
