Numerical ratings at Stanford are intended to provide a general impression of students' strengths.

Numerical ratings are not used to assign grades.

Stanford’s numerical evaluation system uses an end-of-clerkship rating scale.

At the end of a rotation, evaluators review a student’s performance over the preceding 2-8 weeks and assign a score in each category of performance.
