Submission Deadlines (ALL Categories)

Selection process (ALL categories)
*There will be two competitions annually in September and March.
*Proposals will be reviewed within 8-10 weeks of submission date.
*Proposals will be reviewed by CHRP Scientific Advisory Committee
*Anticipate total review time of 10-12 weeks, which will be the earliest funding date.
*Performance period will be for 12 months beginning with the award date.
*Grantees required to submit a Final Report at the end of the performance period.
*Grantees required to submit follow up data for three additional years including grants-submitted and/or awarded, abstracts, presentations, and publications resulting from this award.

Category I: Pilot Early Career ($35K)
The PRF - CHRP Pilot Early Career Grant is supported by the Children’s Fund from the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health.  The Pilot Early Career Grant supports work which is intended to lead to fundable research as a result of the proposed study.  The grant is intended to help the applicant become an independent researcher by facilitating projects which will produce data needed for applications to external funding agencies.

Category II: New Ideas for Mid/Senior Investigators($35K)
The PRF -  CHRP New Ideas Grant is supported by the Children’s Fund from the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health.  The “New Ideas” Award supports high-impact, high-risk projects proposed by mid to senior investigators.  The grant is intended to facilitate projects which are important and highly innovative and, if successful, would facilitate novel directions in research, fundable by external funding agencies

Category III: Bridge Funding ($35K)
The PRF - CHRP Bridge Funding Grant is supported by the Children’s Fund from the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health.  This category of funding is intended to “bridge” investigators between two funding periods and/or help the applicant become an independent researcher.

Category IV: Fellow and Postdoctoral Support ($35K)
The PRF - CHRP Fellow and Postdoctoral Support Grant is supported by the Children’s Fund from the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health.  This grant category is intended to provide salary support for MD fellows and PhD postdocs in association with a specific research project.
