We are employing systems engineering and advanced mathematical modeling tools to provide insights into improving value within existing health care organizations using Stanford's Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital and Stanford Health Care as learning laboratories. As part of those efforts, we are collaborating with Systems Utilization Research for Stanford Medicine (SURF).
Projects and Outcomes
During the COVID-19 crisis, SURF researchers and CERC faculty developed online planning tools to assist health care providers and policy makers in estimating ventilator, ICU, and acute care bed demand. This development gained nationwide attention, including a feature story in the Wall Street Journal.
