"Insights into the Prevention and Treatment of Skin Cancer"
Eleni Linos is a dermatologist and epidemiologist whose research has focused on improving the health of patients with skin disease. Dr. Linos studied at Cambridge and Oxford Universities for her undergraduate and medical degrees before moving to the US to complete a masters and doctorate degree in Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. Committed to caring for patients, she then moved to Stanford for residency training in Dermatology. She joined the faculty at UCSF and has worked on several studies related to the prevention and treatment of skin cancer. She was recently awarded a Beeson Emerging Leaders award by the NIA for work on geriatric dermatology, an R21 by the NCI to work on cancer prevention among sexual minority men, and an NIH Director’s New Innovator award for her work on cancer prevention using technology. Dr. Linos serves as Director of the Program for Clinical research and Director of Diversity at the UCSF Department of Dermatology.
