Event details:

The 2012 Annual Conference pursues a goal of bringing together major players in the life sciences sector to foster collaborations in research, development and product commercialization with the goal of curing diseases and improving patient care.

This statewide industry event brings together and creates a synergy between San Diego and San Francisco Bay Area life sciences clusters.

The 2012 Annual Conference promotes California as a global innovation engine. It helps to foster connections between California companies, their national and their international counterparts. It helps companies to connect with investors, medical research foundations, thought leaders and innovators.

The 2012 Annual Conference brings together leaders in life science research with the express purpose of making collaboration happen - to speed up the time, to lessen the cost it takes to turn discoveries in to treatments and cures. In 2012, participants will include:

  • Biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies from California and globally, interested in exchange of best business and operational practices as well as non-profit/for-profit collaborations necessary for the successful commercialization of new therapies
  • Philanthropists and investors seeking to invest their funds in a targeted, efficient, and effective manner
  • Medical research foundations and institutes that are outcomes-driven and strategic in their allocation of resources
  • Thought leaders and innovators with diverse experiences and expertise all committed to expediting the research and development process
  • University transfer offices focused on facilitating the transfer of university-developed research results to industry for commercial development purposes

BayBio2011 drew close to 1,000 attendees for the conference and over 700 attendees to the Career Fair - nearly five times the attendance of 381 during the inaugural event in 2005. The BayBio Annual Conference is now the largest Northern California life sciences event focused on business practices, product development and commercialization.
