Sofie Qiao is business advisor and acting head of business development for VC-backed China-based Hua Medicine, a discovery and development company. She incorporated LEAD Therapeutics embracing a US/China hybrid business model leading it to raise $17M in Series A in 2007. In 3 years, LEAD generated 2 best-in-class development candidates in cancer and anti-infective areas and, in 2010, was bought for $98M. She has a PHD in org. chemistry from MIT.

Corey Goodman is Managing Director and co-founder of venBio, Adj.Professor at UCSF, Chair of the Board of Directors of Limerick BioPharma, iPierian, PhyloTech, and Oligasis, and member of the Board of NeuroTherapeutics Pharma and Mirna Therapeutics. Corey was elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the American Philosophical Society. He received his PHD from UC Berkeley.
